Kruger National Park is the gold standard for self-drive and guided safari in Africa. Covering nearly 20,000 square kilometres, it is home to Africa's densest concentration of wildlife including the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo — as well as wild dog, cheetah, hippo, and over 500 bird species. Kruger's extensive network of affordable rest camps and mid-range lodges makes it the most accessible major safari destination on the continent.
Fly into Hoedspruit or Phalaborwa, or road transfer from Johannesburg (5 hrs). Afternoon arrival game drive.
Dawn to dusk game drives — lion prides, elephant herds, leopard in trees. Night drive with spotlight.
Early morning guided bush walk on foot. Full afternoon game drive targeting remaining Big Five.
Day trip to Blyde River Canyon — Three Rondavels viewpoint, God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes.
Final dawn game drive. Transfer to Hoedspruit or Phalaborwa for flights.
