Four days to one unforgettable hour with the mountain gorillas.
01 Overview
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the most extraordinary wildlife destinations on the planet. This ancient rainforest — over 25,000 years old — shelters nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorilla population. A gorilla trekking permit grants you one unforgettable hour with a habituated family. Bwindi also offers superb birding, Batwa pygmy cultural encounters, and waterfall hikes through jungle that feels entirely primeval.
Land at Entebbe International Airport. Private road transfer to Bwindi (or optional charter flight to Kihihi airstrip). Check in and evening briefing with your gorilla trekking ranger.
Early 7:30am start at the UWA ranger station. Trek into the forest with trackers and rangers. Spend one hour with a gorilla family. Return for lunch and afternoon rest.
Morning Batwa Pygmy cultural trail with community elders. Afternoon guided birding walk targeting Albertine Rift endemics. Guided hike to Munyaga waterfall.
